The Who
Mason and Vanessa grew up in Manitoba, Canada. In 2000, they moved to Pembina, North Dakota—a small town in the northeastern corner of the state—where Mason accepted a position as the senior pastor of a rural church.
In 2019, after nearly 20 years in vocational ministry, they stepped away to pursue a new chapter in business. They purchased a business just one year before the world turned upside down and life took on a perspective no one could have imagined.
People were discouraged. People were lonely. And the need for encouragement, connection, and a little light in the midst of heavy days became very real.
With a heart for people still at the center of who they were, Barnabas Bean Co. became a reality.
The idea was simple: sometimes a good cup of coffee and a word of encouragement might be just what a weary traveler needs.
And that became a big part of the “why” behind Barnabas Bean Co.
The Why
Barnabas Bean Co has the express desire to not only be a GREAT cup of coffee, but an excuse to be together with others, encouraging them, inspiring them, and helping them move forward with a little more courage than before. Barnabas, a character from the book of Acts in the New Testament, was excellent at this very mission.
Our desire is that you and us together can carry that same mission forward.
